A Good Soldier (Final Clip)

"A Good Soldier", is one of my movies that I have decided to make one of my final three movies to use editing on and post on my blog page. Of the five movies that I made from the material I captured on my Trek 02 around Milwaukee, WI I picked the three that I thought would look the best with actual editing. In the final three clips you will notice a full graphic theme I chose this to emphasize the use of special effects in editing and how they can change the look and feel of a movie. I hope you enjoy them. Thank you for the viewing.

My movie ,"The Frog", was made completely of still image, no moving image. This is another one of my movies that I have chosen to be one of the final three with editing. Which I will post on my blog page.

Wisconsin Ape (Rough Clip)

While on my Trek 02 I was surprised to find something hiding in a tree; at first glimpse it looked like I was being watched, by this thing lingering in a tree. Upon closer inspection I found it was a stuffed animal that was placed there, I am not sure for what, maybe a possible Halloween decoration, or maybe a kid placed it there for fun and forgot about it for a while. But in any case it made me think right away,Bigfoot, or some kind of National Geographic piece. "Wisconsin Ape" is a combination of both still and moving image. Near the end i have a deeper message then voyeur filming an ape in a tree. Enjoy!

Leaf (Rough Clip)

"Leaf" is a movie that I have made completely of moving image, from my Trek 02 around Milwaukee, WI. The idea behind it is you are watching this leaf loosely hanging from a street light, that is wrapped in the surrounding foliage, the next thing you see is the leaf on the ground. But then there is a zoom out and the leaf is back were it was, hanging loosely on the street light. There is a play on time at work here, I hope you enjoy watching it.

RED! (Rough Clip)

When I reviewed all of the footage from my Trek 02 I noticed that I captured a lot of Red in the things that I filmed. In the film you will see high and low camera angles, plus you will also see the camera pull back, or zoom out and in. This is one of the 2 light capturing strategies I used while on my Trek 02.
NOTE: This video is 45 seconds long but the Quick Time player will continue to play on a black screen for 1:12 seconds after the final image it is OK to stop the video once it goes to black after 45 seconds. This problem will be fixed in the final version, sorry for the inconvenience.

The Frog (Rough Clip)

The Frog is my attempt at making a movie of Stills only. In this movie the Frog is a watcher, of what? You will see.

NOTE: this movie is about 12-13 seconds long, but Quick Time will continue to play for about 5 seconds longer on a black screen after the last image. This problem will be fixed in the final version of this movie. Sorry for the inconvenience.

A Good Soldier (Rough Clip)

When I was out on my Trek 02 around Milwaukee, WI I was capturing still and moving image and along my trek I came across a G.I. Joe laying in some weeds next to a tree, in the shadows. It made me think of something you might see in a war movie.

NOTE: This video also lags on a black screen for about 12 seconds after the final image. I apologize for the inconvenience again, but this problem will be corrected in the final posting of the final clips of this movie.

Light Strategy # 2

For my second light capturing method I have chosen to use a slow or medium pull back or zoom out in my still and moving images. I have also wanted to use the push/pull technique in my movies for along time. I don't own a dolly but instead I attempted to do it manually in one of the moving images I shot on my Trek 02. (You will see this on this blog soon.)

Light Strategy #1

When I went out on my Trek 02 around Milwaukee, WI the first Light capturing method I choose to implement in my still and moving images were using close-up and extreme close-up.
